Stevenage Judo Club has a long and colourful history. The club was founded by Bill Stroud in 1967 and originally practised from Barnwell School in Stevenage.

Since SJC was founded it has had its fair share of success. the club has had numerous champions ranging from country up to national level.

Some of the national champions have also gone on to represent the country and have been selected to train with the olympic squad.

SJC has been based at Campshill School for the past 20 years now and has just recently upgraded its mat area to the latest competition standard Gee mats with the aid of a Sports Council Lottery grant and club sponsors money.

With the continued support of the club sponsors and members we look forward to another 35 years of success in the world of Judo!
