Fundraising Total 2013-18

£13,891

2013

The Club and friends raised money for our new club judo mats and Help for Heroes by completing the Tough Mudder 12.5mile obstacle course.

2014

A number of us completed the One True Grit 6mile obstacle course in March and in July we completed the 3-peaks challenge, climbing the highest mountains in Scotland, England and Wales, in 23hrs 47mins for a blind charity supporting one of our visually impaired members, Louie and raised £1700. 'Beat Up A Black Belt Challenge' - SJC's own VI red belt, Louie, took on 3 Olympic Medalists at the British Open in May to raise £2000 for Septo Optic Dysplasia, a rare condition (1/10000)where the optic nerve has not developed causing visual impairement.

2015

In April Simon and Mark completed the Brighton Marathon, raising £1500 for Isabel Hospice and a number of members and their families completed the 3-Peaks Challenge, raising almost £2000 for Lister Hospital's Bluebell Children's Ward in June.

2016

This year we went even bigger. We completed five events, raising money for Hemiplegia (HemiHelp). Thanks for everyone's support as we challenged ourselves to the Tough Mudder (12mile obstacle course), London to Brighton Challenge 100km Walk (in 24hrs) in May, 13,500ft accelerated freefall parachute jump in June, the 'Beat up a black belt' Judo Challenge in June and 3-Peaks Challenge (Ben Nevis, Scafell Pike & Snowdon in 24hrs) in September, raising an amazing £4000.

2017

This was a gap-year as old age can only take so much...

2018

This years events for the British Heart Foundation were the 3-Peaks Challenge in 24hrs in July and Tough Mudder in September where we raised an amazing £2691

2022

This year has started slowly due to injury, however, a quick off-road bike ride from London to Brighton (61 miles) should do the trick. We are doing it for the British Heart Foundation again and hope to raise £500.
